At the 11th Rapperswil Plastics Forum, the Institute of Materials Technology and Plastics Processing (IWK) presented the opportunities as well as the results of its collaboration with industry. Guests from Switzerland and neighbouring countries were given an insight into the abilities of the IWK through presentations by speakers from academics and industry, according to the Technical University Rapperswil (HSR). The individual laboratories were also given the opportunity to demonstrate their potential and inform participants of the latest developments over the course of the event.

“The IWK has developed into an important partner for companies from the plastics industry when it comes to implementing innovative products or production technologies. Even within the HSR the IWK is a competent partner for cross-institutional cooperation,” said Alex Simeon, vice rector for Applied Research & Development. In addition, the metallic department has been strengthened by a newly appointed Chair of Physical Metallurgy.
