PwC Switzerland, the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and the University of St.Gallen are teaming up to launch the platform Blockchain[X]. Its goal is to promote interaction on blockchain technology between established companies, start-ups, leading research institutions and regulators, according to a PwC Switzerland statement.

Members of the platform will have direct access to the latest research results and proof of concept studies on blockchain technology and will be able to easily get in touch with their industry colleagues. They will also be able to contribute to the development of prototypes, thus shaping the future of the Swiss workplace.

The platform initiators believe that blockchain will not only transform the financial world, but will ultimately affect every industry. Blockchain[X] is therefore meant to help actors from all sectors “remain at the forefront of developments”. This is especially important given the speed at which the technology is evolving.

The platform will launch officially on 9 May at a seminar on e-identity at ETH Zurich, where topics such as the secure use of digital identities in the area of the Internet of Things, patient dossiers or e-government will be discussed with industry experts. Interested participants can register online.
