Projects set to boost Bodensee region’s appeal

The association of international Bodensee universities is to host a seminar in March that will look at regional projects for 2018. The aim is to boost the attractiveness of the Bodensee region.

The seminar will take place on 18th March 2017 at the Pedagogical University of St.Gallen (PHSG), announced the International Bodensee University. It will map out how to meet the challenges facing the Bodensee region, including discussing the demands posed by location competition.

Scientists and employees of the universities, as well as companies, institutions and facilities from the Bodensee region, can participate. Following a welcome by Rectors Horst Biedermann (PHSG) and Sebastian Wörwag from the University of Applied Sciences St.Gallen, there will be a lecture by Roland Scherer from the research centre Regional Science at the University of St.Gallen dedicated to the topic “Megatrends and their significance for the Bodensee region”.

During the afternoon, small groups will discuss further key issues: “Resilience as a requirement for sustainable locations”, “Regional innovation systems Bodensee”, and “The significance of location factors in a digital economy”.
