Raiffeisen, which is headquartered in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, already lays claim to one of the most modern e-banking platforms in Switzerland. With its new services, the bank is deploying the Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA’s conditions for video and online identification. This ensures the highest standards of security and encrypts communication between the bank and its customers.

Many of the bank’s services can be accessed with video identification. Using either a computer or a laptop, customers can now open accounts, be legally identified, change names, prove their legal age and grant power of attorney. Corporate clients can also grant power of attorney and account permissions.

With the bank’s Paymit app, customers can already send, request or receive money. Raiffeisen also allows mortgages to be closed online. The bank hopes its new offering will allow its services to better target customers’ needs.
