SFS strengthens position in medical device market

SFS Group is acquiring the US company Tegra Medical. The acquisition promises to boost SFS’s customer base in the rapidly growing medical device market.

Tegra Medical develops and manufactures primarily disposal products made of metal and plastics for customers in the medical device market. Based in Franklin, Massachusetts, Tegra Medical employs around 700 people and generates sales of approximately USD 80 million.

According to an SFS Group statement, Tegra Medical will be integrated into SFS’s Engineered Components segment as an independent division upon completion of the acquisition, and its current executives will continue to manage the company. The current CEO J. Mark King will take a seat on SFS’s executive board and lead the Medical division.

The acquisition offers SFS Group, which is headquartered in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, major potential in the medical industry market. Like SFS, Tegra Medical works closely with customers in the early stages of new product development. The US company sets high standards for precision manufacturing of complex components at its manufacturing facilities in Franklin, Dartmouth (New Hampshire), Hernando (Mississippi) and La Aurora, Costa Rica.
