The telecom journal Connect has named Sunrise the winner of its mobile network test. The Zurich-based telecommunications provider was deemed to have the best mobile telephone network and fastest mobile internet in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Sunrise even set a new record, achieving the highest score ever in a Connect mobile network test, according to a statement.
With these latest test results, Sunrise has overtaken Swisscom for the first time. Sunrise scored particularly well when it came to mobile phone calls from cars in large cities. The company also had a success rate of 100 per cent with regard to downloading files in a car or playing videos, leaving its competitors far behind.
Connect had high praise for the quality of network operators in Switzerland in general. Swiss telecommunication providers scored particularly well when it comes to mobile phone calls in trains.
“In this discipline, Swiss mobile customers can be pleased that their network providers offer the best results among all three countries – and by a clear distance,” according to an article.
This is in part thanks to the close collaboration with the Swiss Federal Railways SBB, which works together with network providers to consistently integrate signal amplifiers into the trains.
