How Swiss innovator Vima is revolutionising human-machine intelligence with advanced social computing technologies

With the help of Swiss Business Hub UK and Ireland, Vima was able to get in touch with decision makers at large organisations and converted opportunities into paying clients. The Swiss innovator was founded in 2015 as a spinoff from the Idiap Research Institute affiliated to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology EPFL and focusses on the growing need to have more precise, multimodal and multicultural understanding of people.

The Swiss Business Hub UK + Ireland has been focused on supporting high-impact tech innovations, leveraging its wide industry and expert network to support Swiss companies throughout their internationalisation journey. Recently devised specialist services with a focus on supporting artificial intelligence solutions, generated successful collaborations such as with Swiss AI innovator Vima.
The company focuses on the growing need to have a more precise, multimodal, multicultural and minimally biased behavioural understanding of people, notably personality traits and interpersonal skills.

Why AI is important to HR

The behavioural intelligence company has developed artificial intelligence technology that is able to understand people’s traits with a level of accuracy never achieved before combining behavioural science with advanced technologies.

Predictive analytics is increasingly being implemented in human resources where recruiters use AI to scan candidates for personality traits and soft skills in order to foresee who will likely succeed at a specific task or job.

Successful market expansion: how was it possible?

The United Kingdom, which is already a world leader in AI, has been testing the grounds of this technology. The SBH UK + I supported Vima in their successful market expansion to the UK. We talked to Founder and CEO Raphaël Heraïef, to learn how this success came about and how we can better embrace the exciting and challenging evolution of AI.
