The combination of digital treatment planning and mass customization of aligners developed by Align has revolutionized the orthodontic industry. Since launching their commercial operations in EMEA back in 2001, the company has considerably grown its business, expanded in a number of new territories, and has successfully treated over 1.5 million patients in the whole EMEA region. Today, more than 500,000 unique aligner parts are produced by Align every day.
This move has allowed us to grow an even stronger presence for Align Technology and to better support Invisalign and iTero doctors in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, as well as in the entire region.
EMEA headquarters with over 150 employees
Align technology has recently moved its regional headquarters from Amsterdam to Rotkreuz, Canton of Zug, where the new office opened in January 2020. "We are excited to have opened our new EMEA headquarters office here in Risch-Rotkreuz, in the beautiful canton of Zug. This move has allowed us to grow an even stronger presence for Align Technology and to better support Invisalign and iTero doctors in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, as well as in the entire region", commented Markus Sebastian, Align Technology senior vice president & managing director EMEA.
Expanding its existing presence across the region to successfully support 38 markets regionally from the EMEA HQ offices, along with a highly specialized talent pool are just a few reasons why Align has chosen Switzerland as their new base. The new offices, located across two floors, host over 150 employees. They hold several commercial roles and functions, supporting the operations of the whole EMEA region, such as finance, HR, clinical education and marketing, among others.
Center for innovation in Switzerland
Additionally, the Rotkreuz office will serve as a hub for R&D and center for innovation, led by Align’s chief technology officer Zelko Relic. The R&D center is part of a wider, global research and development team. The hub aims to build on the existing relations with Swiss-based institutions, dental associations, and clinics across Switzerland, as well as expand collaboration with the leading research and technology institutions, such as University of Zurich or ETH Zurich.
