Chile has long been the Latin American hub of food processing and distribution, and the F&B industry is one of the country’s most important. According to the World Bank, food imports to Chile have risen to 11% of the total market in 2022, with consistent year-on-year growth.

Strict new food labelling laws, along with GDP growth per capita, have produced a shift in consumer demand towards nutritious and convenient food options. There has also been a rise in sales of premium cheese, with increased imports from the European Union, and in imported craft beers.
