Impact in Japan

Mr. Takashi Wada, DG of JETRO Geneva, joined Geneva office in June 2018. Before, he worked for the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry (METI)in Japan. He has a wide experience in information technology and safety regulation policy. He also spent 2 years as vice president at the Software Reliability Enhancement Center (SEC) of the Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) as well as 3 years as IT Director of JETRO New York.

JETRO offers foreign investors with abundant information on all aspects of doing business in Japan, by providing expert consultation and offering free temporary office space in major business areas across Japan.

Hiromi Kawamura is serving as PR Secretary and Senior Director for International Affairs since she joined the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee in 2014. She is in charge of the PR for Tokyo Games and also led the priority projects including Tokyo 2020 torch relay in supporting with President and Director General of Tokyo 2020. Prior to the position, she has experienced the job in IOC in domain with Olympic Torch Relay, Olympic Education, Cultural Olympiad and other engagement programs from 2015 to 2017.
She has 16 years experience as the government official in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), where she established and led the national program of the global human resources development in the Elementary and Secondary Education Bureau as the inspector.
Hiromi holds degrees in Human Science (Osaka University, Japan) and Master of International and Public Affairs (Columbia University, USA). 

Having joined Olympus Corporation in 1992, Mr. Gono worked on the development of endoscopic image processing and endoscopic imaging technology while gaining Ph.D. in biomedical optics at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2003. Having been involved in new technology development management in the fields of gastroenterology, laparoscopy, endourology, otolaryngology, and pathology, Mr. Gono has been Chief Fellow, Innovation Manager and then Vice President of the Innovation Promotion Office since 2017, where he is currently responsible for business development and management of medical device innovation. He owns over a hundred patents in total, and was awarded The Japan Prime Minister Prize at the National Commendation for Invention (2011), The Commendation for Science and Technology (2016) by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology: Prize for Science and Technology, Development Category, and a Medal with purple ribbon from the Emperor (2017).
