Dive into the innovation ecosystems in Canada and Switzerland and learn about Swiss-Canadian business opportunities and research collaboration in Cleantech
Switzerland is a highly industrialized technology location with leading research facilities and access to highly qualified specialists. It has leading clusters in the Cleantech, life sciences and engineering sectors that promote the use of new, disruptive technologies and allow the rapid introduction of new applications in an open market in the heart of Europe. Thanks to versatile high-tech clusters in a manageable space, companies in Switzerland are in an excellent position to establish close contact with market leaders and innovation drivers and test new applications or optimize processes. The network of partners across Switzerland have set themselves the goal of sustainably and efficiently expanding new business models and innovative applications and promoting Switzerland as a country for the global tech community. A special focus is put on the future technologies of artificial intelligence, robotics, personalized health, blockchain and advanced manufacturing, all building blocks for clean and efficient future business solutions.
Canada is best known for its stunning natural beauty, just like Switzerland. It is also home to many excellent academic institutions, and is a place where innovation is translated into business success. In addition to being a bridgehead into the North American market, Canada has numerous strengths in the Cleantech sector, including solutions in renewable energy, water and wastewater, energy storage and efficiency, hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), smart grid, bioproducts, and e-mobility. These subsectors are important areas for building collaboration with partner countries, and are highlighted due in part to the areas in which Canada has the greatest exporting capability. The transition to a cleaner economy is a driver for innovation and it is creating significant business opportunities around the globe. Among the 2022 Global Cleantech 100 companies, there are 13 Canadian firms. We are delighted to have some of them with us at this summit.

Be sure to catch valuable insights into current developments in the Swiss and Canadian Cleantech markets and business practices!
A key component of this Innovation Summit are the four breakout sessions on Hydrogen Technologies, Sustainable Building, Smart Grids and Energy Storage, and Water and Waste Water Management. These sectors are of high relevance for the energy transition in both countries and their efforts to mitigate climate change by using innovative applications and cutting-edge research. Take a deeper look and learn more about the current state of the art in universities and in companies and the potential for cooperation in Cleantech.
Each session is open to a select audience and will provide a succinct introduction to the subject. Companies and researchers will provide keynotes and “reverse pitches” to explain their current state of affairs: what are they involved in today, what can they offer and what do they need to continue to tackle the next challenges? The sessions will conclude with an interactive Q&A session and wrap up from the expert moderator.
