How to start your e-commerce journey in the ASEAN region
The 10 nations of ASEAN have a dynamism all their own with unlimited potential, especially when it comes to e-commerce. Our webinar with special collaborators at Alibaba Cloud will explain how Swiss SMEs can find the right digital distribution channels for their exports in this thriving region.
The 10 countries that comprise the ASEAN region provide great avenues for Swiss companies looking for e-commerce opportunities abroad. Collectively, ASEAN has a population of over 650 million and combined GDP of about USD 3.1 trillion. With improving infrastructure and logistics, a rising middle class and a maturing millennial generation with more disposable income, Southeast Asia is a must for any Swiss SME looking to export their goods.
Southeast Asia’s booming e-commerce market
ASEAN, like the current trend throughout the world, is experiencing a massive uptick in e-commerce activity. With more mobile and internet penetration in the region, new users are going online at an incredible pace, increasing from 360 million in 2019 to 400 million last year—now 70 percent of the total population—as the Covid-19 pandemic impacted all facets of our lives, including shopping habits. Digital acceleration will only increase in the region as will ASEAN’s USD 100 billion internet economy. For our upcoming webinar, we along with experts from Alibaba Cloud invite Swiss and Liechtenstein companies that are eager to explore e-commerce as a distribution channel in ASEAN. Participants will be presented with various solutions on how to kick-start your e-commerce journey in ASEAN, gain insight on technical implementations, and hear about successful case studies.
