E-commerce as a stable distribution channel in Russia

Reality or utopia?

Russia’s e-commerce market has been constantly growing during the last ten years. Its volume in 2019 amounted to $ 31.4 billion. The COVID-19 pandemic launched a process of rapid growth in demand for online orders, thereby contributing to the additional growth in the online sales in the first half of 2020.

The Russian Online Retail Association (AKIT) predicts the growth of 30% with the total volume of $ 41 billion in 2020, and by 2025 the market will grow to $ 128.8 billion.

In a time of the closed borders, quarantine restrictions, bans on free movement and just the fear of going out, online sales are showing unprecedented growth rates. The Russian e-commerce market has already attracted numerous international companies. Yet there’s still enough room for smaller foreign businesses as the market is far from oversaturation.

What does a Swiss exporter need to know to successfully operate in the Russian e-commerce market? In our webinar from December 03, 2020 at 11h00 (CET), you will learn all about the basic rules of the game, particularities, advantages, pitfalls and the largest players in the Russian e-commerce market at our webinar “E-commerce as a stable distribution channel in Russia - reality or utopia?”.
