With a population of more than 200 million people, Nigeria's economy is considered the largest in Africa. As the Nigerian government has intensified its efforts to diversify the local economy and set up a roadmap to improve various sectors, opportunities are opening up for Swiss companies, especially in public infrastructure and high-growth sectors such as machinery, ICT, healthcare, luxury goods and agriculture. Furthermore, Nigeria is a member of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which will open many more opportunities once AfCFTA is operational in 2026.
