Notified bodies
Notified bodies perform the tasks specified in the directives that relate to the conformity assessment process, in cases where the involvement of a neutral body is required. They are appointed by the Member States. The contracting parties have nominated their appointed bodies within the framework of the bilateral agreement on mutual recognition of conformity assessment between Switzerland and the EU. The Swiss bodies are now also able to certify products for the EU market.
