Kenya the largest economy in East Africa has a population of 53.7 million and the proportion of the population with access to formal financial services rose to 83 percent from 75 percent in 2016, driven largely by mobile technology.  

Based on the quick adoption of the mobile money services, banks, venture capitalists, financial companies and governments have quickly pivoted towards digital financial services.  

The Kenyan fintech sector is one of the biggest and most developed fintech ecosystems in the Africa continent with more than 354 fintech companies across different sectors. According to Partech partners, Kenyan fintech companies raised around USD 198 million in funding in 2019 and this number is projected to keep increasing,
