Selling via E-Commerce in Thailand

Statista calculates that the Thai e-commerce market registered a total revenue of USD 19 billion (CHF 17.5 billion) in 2021. Global marketing research firm NielsenIQ calculates that the number of Thai households shopping online shot up 58% in 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated the country’s shift to e-commerce. According to a 2021 study by Google and Temasek, Thailand and the Philippines have had the highest proportion of new users who started consuming digital services in 2020 and H1 2021. The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) reports that the direct-to-customer (DTC) approach is now a prevailing trend as the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed enterprises to sell products and services directly to customers.
