ACG Inspection focuses on the traceability of pharmaceutical products, using new technologies that enable manufacturers to comply with anti-counterfeiting regulations. In the near future, blockchain should make it possible to support these security efforts. The inspection of packagings and the verification of the caps on vials are also areas of development for the Indian company.

"The objective is to create a center of excellence for sales, services, and research and development by employing qualified engineers and benefiting from the proximity of several pharmaceutical companies and universities in the region," explains François Bangerter, ACG Inspection's sales manager for Europe.

A strengthening of the life sciences sector

For Y-Parc, the addition of ACG Inspection represents a "strengthening of its life sciences sector". The park, based in Yverdon, hosts some 170 companies, for around 1,580 jobs.

In the canton of Vaud alone, the "Health Valley" boasts nearly 400 companies for 20,000 jobs. The availability of a skilled workforce, taxation and the geographical location played a key role in ACG Inspection's decision to establish business activities in Western Switzerland.

ACG Inspection is one of the four units of the ACG Group, based in Mumbai, which employs about 5,000 people worldwide. The group specializes in the manufacture and design of packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. In 2017, its turnover reached CHF 420 million.
