Cantonal chambers of industry and commerce (CCIC)
Cantonal Chambers of Industry and Commerce (CCIC) are the strategic regionalization partner for Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE).
Through its cooperation with the IHK, which is regulated by a framework agreement, S-GE ensures that the internationalization services are coordinated with the services offered by the chambers and are made known and available in all regions of Switzerland. In accordance with the agreed division of tasks, requests from companies received by S-GE and the chambers will be forwarded within the network to the relevant bodies. In this way, valuable expertise is pooled and synergies are created for export-driven companies.
Services related to proof of origin and Carnet ATA provided by the Chambers of Commerce
Throughout the world, the chambers of commerce play a neutral role of trust and mediation between customs authorities and the private sector.
Proof of origin
The chambers of commerce are authorized to certify the non-preferential origin of products for export. This is generally applied, in particular in cases where Switzerland has not signed a bilateral or multilateral economic agreement that provides for:
- Preferential tariffs,
- a simplification of the export procedure and
- close cooperation between the customs authorities.
Preferential origin, on the other hand, refers to goods that are exported to countries that have concluded preferential economic agreements with our country.

Carnet ATA
Carnet ATA (Temporary Admission) is an international customs document that can be used in place of national customs documents, which are usually required for the temporary import and export of goods as well as for transit. This “passport for goods” enables the temporary export in particular of samples, goods for fairs, professional equipment, cars, and horses.
