EXPONOR is one of the most significant international exhibitions dedicated to mining and energy technologies, held biennially in Antofagasta, Chile, the heart of Latin America’s mining region. 

The 2026 edition is expected to host over 1'200 exhibitors, attract approximately 45'000 visitors, and feature industry leaders from around 30+ countries. It's a strategic hub for showcasing innovation, forming business connections, and exploring future investments in mining and energy.

About the Chilean mining sector

Chile is the world’s leading copper producer, with production reaching around 5.5 million tonnes in 2024, up nearly 5% from 2023. Mining contributes over 14% of Chile’s GDP and accounts for approximately 60% of its exports.

The country attracts significant investment in exploration: in 2024, more than $790 million USD, with more than $636 million USD in copper exploration alone, representing 27% of global exploration spend. Chile also hosts a pipeline of 51 mining projects valued at over $83 billion USD through 2033, the largest volume seen in a decade. It leads globally in reserves and production of copper, lithium, molybdenum, silver, and gold, supported by robust infrastructure, renewable-energy initiatives, and strong digital connectivity.
