India's semiconductor market is projected to nearly triple to CHF 95 billion by 2030. With a CHF 14 billion project pipeline, new trade advantages under TEPA, and growing demand for precision equipment and expertise, the market offers significant export opportunities for Swiss companies.
India is rapidly building domestic semiconductor capacity across fabrication, packaging, and design – driven by demand from automotive, AI, and data centre sectors. Ten approved manufacturing projects across six states are creating immediate demand for the precision metrology, specialty materials, and advanced packaging capabilities where Swiss firms excel. The India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), effective since October 2025, further strengthens market access by reducing duties on high-precision machinery. S-GE and the Swiss Business Hub India support Swiss companies with market intelligence, partner matchmaking, and compliance guidance to help them position effectively in this fast-evolving ecosystem.
