Simone Wyss Fedele
Host of Inspiration Day
Simone Wyss Fedele has been CEO of Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), the official Swiss organization for export and investment promotion, since October 2019. With a PhD in economics, she has worked as a management consultant for internationalization issues, developed new business models for the international market and accompanied companies such as Helvetia Insurance, Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Novartis through macroeconomic and political challenges.
Dr. Burkhard P. Varnholt
Keynote Speaker
Burkhard was born in 1968 in Germany and he received his first doctorate at University of St. Gallen – HSG in 1994. He joined Credit Suisse in 1998 and spent his entire career in structuring and managing investments for private as well as institutional investors. He has served as Chief Investment Officer for Credit Suisse (Switzerland) since 2016. In 2003 Burkhard founded a Swiss charity, Kids of Africa, which operates a children’s-village for orphaned or abandoned children in Uganda as well as multiple schools. In 2006 he was awarded the SwissRe Civilian-Service-award and in 2012 an honorary doctorate in International Relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy for the developmentwork Burkhard has pursued for almost twenty years besides his professional career. Burkhard lives with his wife and two sons in Zurich. He is an avid runner, cyclist and reader.
Urs Haeusler
Urs Haeusler is Managing Director of valantic CEC Schweiz - a «high-end» consulting & solution partner for digital end-to-end transformation with focus on consulting, development and implementation of eBusiness solutions (from strategy, UI/UX, design to full integration into existing ERP/CRM systems). The valantic group has more than 850 consultants and developers for digital solutions at 16 locations in DACH in the competence centers SAP Solutions, ERP, Big Data & Analytics, eBusiness Solutions, Customer Experience, Digital Marketing & Supply Chain & Logistics.
Prior to valantic he did build up DealMarket - a global platform for fundraising and deal flow management serving professional investment firms. In Dec 2016 he sold the company to Drooms.com, a leading virtual data room provider.
Urs is also the co-founder and CEO of Swiss Finance Startups (SFS) the association of all Swiss FinTech startups. Moreover Urs is in the board of DigitalSwitzerland as well as co-founder and president of the Swiss Startup Association (SSA) to give Swiss startups a strong & important (political) voice and strengthen the startup ecosystem in Switzerland.
Urs has more than 15 years of experience in digital transformation, eCommerce and building international startups such as DealMarket (selling to Drooms), amiando (selling to XING) and Jamba! (sold to VeriSign).
He holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), is an eBusiness, FinTech and Startup expert, runs his own Internet management consultancy and has invested in various Internet startups as a Business Angel.

Eric Jakob
Ambassador Eric Jakob, (*1962), Dr. phil., Head of the Promotion Activities Directorate and Member of the Executive Board of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO since 01.12.2012. Responsible for SME, Regional and Tourism Policy as well as for Export and Location Promotion. Previously General Manager of Regio Basiliensis and the Intercantonal Coordination Office at Regio Basiliensis in Basel. 1995 to 2003 Assistant General Manager of this organisation. From 1993 to 1995 Swiss Adviser to Infobest Palmrain, an information and advisory body for cross-border matters in Village-Neuf (France). Prior to that Senior Project Leader within the framework of the PTT Initiative at that time «Communication and Model Community Basel», also worked as a journalist.
