Nicolas Joss

After graduating as a Swiss Certified Chef and a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Hotel Management School in Geneva, Nicolas Joss worked in numerous well-known restaurants and hotels in the upscale gastronomy sector. He then spent 6 years as general manager of the Office des Vins Vaudois. In 2018, he took over the general secretary for the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, which was held once in Aigle (VD) in May 2019. This competition is one of the most famous tasting competitions in the world with 350 professional tasters and 9300 wines from 50 countries. In July 2019, he became director of Swiss Wine Promotion AG, the national promotional organization for the promotion of Swiss wine in Switzerland and abroad.

Andreas Balemi

Wine & Philosophy is based in Singapore and manages an exclusive portfolio of rare, exciting wines directly imported from Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain. Andreas, the founder of Wine & Philosophy has been living in Asia for almost twenty years, first in Singapore, then in Hong Kong, and since 2016 back in Singapore. Most of previous career has been in insurance, a fascinating and enriching experience which has allowed him to be a direct witness to the extraordinary success story of Asia.

Along the way, he has also been able to cultivate his passions for wine and the arts. As an enthusiastic wine lover and connoisseur, Andreas has tasted and studied wines for over 20 years, and to further develop his expertise and tasting skills, he passed his WSET Diploma examination in 2016.

Yi Ying Yong

Yi Ying Yong

Yi Ying Yong is the executive manager of a wine importer and distributor based in Malaysia that specialises in products from boutique wineries across Europe. Her experience includes importing wines made by a range of wineries, from well-known, established companies to boutique brands. These include Egon Müller (Mosel, Germany), Champagne Pierre Peters (Le Mesnil sur Oger, France) and Domaine Bruno Clair (Burgundy, France). With a solid foundation of years of involvement in the industry, plus a remarkable knowledge gained within the wine trade, Yi Ying is also proud to be a certified Sommelier. Her hard work, passion and talents were fully recognised when she won the Malaysia Best Sommelier Championship award in 2017. In 2018, she had the opportunity to participate in a harvest with Domaine Simon Bize, in Savigny les Beaune, a winemaker in the Côte de Beaune since 1880.
