Obrist, a designer creating shop and residential interiors of exceptional quality worldwide, has handed over the largest overseas project in the company’s history. After almost 18 months of construction work, the Bucherer flagship store called TimeMachine on 57th Street & Madison Avenue in New York is ready to open. According to a press release, the assembly time for creating the luxurious ambience was 5.5 months alone.

The shipping of store fittings from Switzerland to New York involved 24 loaded 40-foot containers. “Doing the millwork of Tourneau Bucherer's flagship store was another milestone for Obrist,” said CEO and owner Stefan Slamanig. “It shows that mountains can be moved with expertise, commitment and dedication.”

The retail surface of this “megaproject” is 1,700sqm. Bucherer will showcase watches and jewelry in the luxury segment at the new store. According to the press release, the light-filled space features custom fixtures and furniture by Obrist, with a mix of materials including glass, stone, wood, metal and fabric in natural, warm colors.  For this flagship store, 500 plans were handed over to production.
