The German robotics manufacturer is taking over 1,800 square meters in the Seefeld district. Development of the humanoid robot 4NE1 will be completely relocated to the new site. Production will remain in Metzingen.
Neura Robotics has opened a site on Zollikerstrasse in Zurich. Spread across three floors and covering 1,800 square meters, the company aims to advance research and development in the field of Physical AI. An initial 800 square meters are already occupied, with the remaining 1,000 square meters scheduled to follow in 2026.
The site will focus on the development of the humanoid robot 4NE1. Until now, this work was carried out at the company’s headquarters in Metzingen, where robot production is located and will remain. In Zurich, teams from development, operations, partner management, and customer experience will be based.
The Zurich Seefeld district was chosen for its proximity to the robotics labs of ETH Zurich and other research institutions. “With Zurich, we are strengthening the development of our humanoid robot 4NE1 — from Physical AI and sensor technology to cognitive capabilities,” explains David Reger, founder and CEO of Neura Robotics. The site is also intended to serve as a base for collaborations with European industrial partners and research associations.
Founded in 2019, the company develops industrial and household robots with cognitive capabilities. The robots are equipped with sensors for vision, hearing, and touch, and are designed to operate autonomously. According to the company, all technological components — including artificial intelligence — are developed in-house.
With the “Neuraverse,” Neura Robotics is working on a system designed to connect cognitive robots with infrastructure and devices. The humanoid robot 4NE1 is intended to be launched as a general-purpose robot.
