The WIIT Group from Milan has opened its new Swiss headquarters in Zurich. The provider of private cloud and hybrid cloud services will operate out of Zurich under the name WIIT Schweiz AG. The Swiss business revolves around the previously acquired Dietikon-based firm Econis.
The Italian WIIT Group has newly established its Swiss headquarters in Zurich, where it will operate as WIIT Schweiz AG and offer private cloud and hybrid cloud services, as detailed in a statement. By establishing the new headquarters, the Swiss market now stands to benefit from the WIIT Group’s full portfolio.
At the heart of this offering is the WIIT Cloud Native Platform. According to the statement, this is based on open standards (OpenStack, Kubernetes, CNCF) and ranks among the most reliable and high-performance cloud native platforms in Europe. With this, Swiss companies have the ability to run cloud-native and container-based workloads domestically, ensuring that data is kept in the country under Swiss jurisdiction while satisfying regulatory requirements, including those set by the country’s financial regulator. In terms of its activities, WIIT Schweiz AG builds upon the customer base of Econis AG, which was acquired by WIIT in April 2024 and has since operated as “the group’s Swiss organization”.
“Switzerland is a strategic market for us and with WIIT Schweiz AG we are giving our presence here a clear identity”, as Alessandro Cozzi, CEO of the WIIT Group, comments in the statement, adding that: “Swiss companies now have access to our group’s full portfolio, including one of the most reliable and powerful cloud native platforms in Europe, with its own Swiss region and further regions in Germany and Italy”. WIIT Schweiz AG is led by two Co-CEOs, Roger Bruder and Christoph Herrnkind, who were previously the Co-CEOs of Econis.
