Trust Valley brings together the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, the Swiss Confederation, academic institutions and leading companies to build a center of expertise and foster the creation of innovative projects in the field of digital trust.

Since the announcement of its launch, this initiative has become a public-private partnership actively supported by key industry leaders such as ELCA, GCSP, Kudelski, SGS and SICPA, SMEs, large groups, start-ups, scale-ups, as well as academic institutions from the Lake Geneva region (such as IHEID, HEIG-VD, HES-SO Geneva, EPFL, UNIGE, UNIL).

Strategic alliances have been formed to implement concrete measures, notably with new partners such as the Cyber Peace Institute, PWC and Wisekey. Since June 2020, 38 companies and organizations have expressed their interest in joining the Trust Valley, 14 organizations have been added to the Lake Geneva region cartography dedicated to digital trust and more than 12 projects have been submitted to the initiative via a dedicated marketplace.

Three key projects and an international support

Lennig Pedron, Trust Valley Director, highlighted three concrete projects : an acceleration program for start-ups, called Tech4Trust, a food-related project, Food by Trust Valley, aimed at developing trust and digital tracking solutions in the agritech and agrifood sector, and Health by Trust Valley, which maps organizations working on post-COVID-19 projects.

Referring to the Trust Valley initiative, Brad Smith, President of Microsoft, emphasized : "I don't think there are many nations on earth that advocate trust as much as Switzerland ; there is no part of Switzerland that is more significant than the Lake Geneva region. Thank you for what you are doing. I hope that we, Microsoft, can continue to be a part of it, to support you and, for my part, continue to learn from everything you do".
