Ricoh to acquire Axon Ivy

The Ricoh Group is taking over Axon Ivy AG from the Axon Group. The Lucerne-based firm, which specializes in the digitalization of business processes, will operate as an independent subsidiary of Ricoh and maintain all existing brands, products and employees.

The Ricoh Group has agreed a takeover deal for the tech firm Axon Ivy. According to a press release, the Lucerne-based company is to be operated as an independent subsidiary of the international manufacturer of digital office communications and printing systems as well as digital cameras. Ricoh intends to keep all existing brands, products and partners in addition to retaining all current employees. No details have been disclosed regarding the purchase price for this transaction.

Ricoh is headquartered in the Japanese capital Tokyo and operates a Swiss subsidiary in Wallisellen in the canton of Zurich. Through this strategic acquisition, the company is aiming to strengthen its business activities in the area of digital services. “Axon Ivy has a trusted reputation as a true digital enabler”, comments Akira Oyama, Executive Corporate Officer and President of Ricoh Digital Services Business Unit, in the press release. He adds that the automation platform developed by Axon Ivy has won recognition “from customers, peers, and industry analysts alike”.

Meanwhile, Axon Ivy should stand to benefit from the global reach of the Ricoh Group and be able to better accommodate increased global demand for digital transformation services. “My team and I look forward to the prospect of Axon Ivy becoming a global leader in the digital automation space”, comments Rolf Gebhard Stephan, CEO of Avon Ivy, in the press release.

Ricoh serves customers in approximately 200 different countries and regions around the world. The company generated global sales of around 15.1 billion US dollars in the prior financial year ending in March 2021.
