Neuria not only offers a promising solution for behavioral modification but also provides extensive services to health-related companies and the scientific community.

Based in Fribourg and originating as a spin-off from the University of Fribourg, Neuria is pioneering a platform aimed at transforming unhealthy behaviors, such as poor eating habits, alcohol abuse, and smoking, into positive lifestyle changes. By harnessing the power of interactive gaming that integrates a patented neurocognitive mechanism, Neuria’s innovative approach is making strides in digital therapeutics (DTx), now seeking to expand its impact from the Biopôle Campus.

The start-up’s flagship game, “The Diner,” has already showcased remarkable results, reducing cravings and actual consumption of unhealthy foods by 20% among participants. This fusion of fun and health enhancement not only underlines the potential of Neuria’s platform to revolutionize patient health but also highlights the role of innovative solutions in promoting healthier lifestyle choices.

Frederik Plourde, Co-Founder and CEO of Neuria, expressed enthusiasm about the acceleration program’s ability to position Neuria as a leader in Switzerland’s DTx industry and to attract a robust investors syndicate for their ongoing Seed funding round. Lucas Spierer, Co-Founder and CSO, emphasized the start-up’s ambition to transform their innovation into a market-ready product, navigating the complex landscape of medical regulations within Switzerland and the EU.

Fostering a healthier future for individuals globally

With an MVP already in place demonstrating significant reductions in sugar consumption, Neuria’s next steps involve securing a medical device license and launching their product to market. The team is actively engaging with B2B partners for paid pilot projects and is in the process of raising CHF 1.2 million to further their mission.

Neuria’s participation in the Vanguard Accelerator program aligns with the accelerator’s mission to nurture digital health start-ups through expert guidance and business development opportunities. As the latest addition to a prestigious list of alumni, Neuria is set on a path of transformative growth, contributing to the broader goal of reducing healthcare costs through innovative digital interventions.
