The Zurich-based firm Sherpany has been acquired by the North American company Datasite, which is headquartered in the US State of Minnesota. The terms of the purchase agreement have not been publicly disclosed. The transaction is expected to be closed by the end of the first quarter of 2024, further details of which can be found in a press release. Moving forwards, Sherpany will function as an independent strategic business unit within Datasite. Founded in 2011, Sherpany now operates six branches across various European countries and employs just under 100 staff.

With this acquisition, Datasite is expanding its Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for strategic transaction projects with the addition of Sherpany’s digital communication and meeting management software for board-level corporate activities. The software developed by the Zurich-based SaaS provider aims to “increase productivity by streamlining both board and general meeting preparation, execution and archiving”, as the company explains in the press release.

“Creating a world where every meeting counts has been Sherpany’s mission from the very start”, comments Tobias Häckermann, Founder and CEO of Sherpany, in the press release, before adding: “Datasite and Sherpany have a shared passion for leveraging technology to streamline business processes and boost organizational productivity”. As Nicole Herzog, who chairs the board of directors at Sherpany, explains in the press release, both her and the company’s shareholders are “excited” to have the opportunity, after more than a decade of building the firm, “to pass along and entrust Sherpany to new owners, enabling this great company and its great team to continue building a leading global market player”.
