The LUKB Future Prize for sustainable projects in the Lucerne economic region will be awarded for the third time in 2024. Luzerner Kantonalbank AG (LUKB) is providing prize money totaling 150,000 Swiss francs for the three winning projects, according to a statement. Individuals aged 18 and over, as well as groups or legal entities domiciled in Switzerland can submit a project by 29 February 2024.
All participating projects must promote sustainable development in the canton of Lucerne or raise the population's awareness of a sustainable approach to the environment and society, writes LUKB. Equally, the projects must include a binding schedule and interim goals. Successful projects must be launched within twelve months of receiving any funding, and must show initial effects within 24 months, it continues.
Following pre-selection by an advisory board, a public vote will be held online from 27 May to 12 June. The winning project, as determined by the public vote, will receive up to a maximum of 75,000 francs in funding. The project that comes second will receive a maximum of 50,000 Swiss francs, and the project in third, a maximum of 25,000 Swiss francs. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 25 June 2024.
"With the third edition of the LUKB Future Prize, we are continuing our commitment to sustainable projects in the Lucerne economic region. As with the first two editions, the public can participate in the selection of projects through crowd voting," commented Antoinette Stocker, Head of Marketing & Sponsoring at LUKB, in the statement.
