The life science cluster in the Greater Zurich Area is gaining a new laboratory building with an innovative concept: following its existing location in Hombrechtikon in the canton of Zurich, House of Lab Science is opening a fully equipped and maintained laboratory building on the former grounds of Maggi in Kemptthal in March 2025. According to a press release, the company House of Lab Science has entered into an agreement with the owners of The Valley, the real estate developer Mettler2Invest and Motorworld Manufaktur.
The owners will renovate 1,500 square meters on two floors and equip them so that young food and biotech companies leaving university campuses can start working immediately on the former Maggi grounds in the canton of Zurich. House of Lab Science is renting the area and seeking out suitable subtenants. If the concept is successful, a further 1,500 square meters are to be added. Co-Founder and CEO of House of Lab Science AG, Dr. Christian Hugo Hoffmann, stated: “Our mission at the House of Lab Science is to take care of our tenants’ non-core activities, for instance, lab, facility, or ICT management.”
According to the information provided, The Valley is particularly well suited to being the next site of House of Lab Science as the new building is located at the heart of an existing, flourishing ecosystem that includes the companies Givaudan and Bühler as well as the scale-up company Planted Foods, to name a few. House of Lab Science AG, which itself is a start-up, has announced a further location in Zofingen in the canton of Aargau on its website.
