Leica Geosystems, the manufacturer of high-precision equipment, and the construction machinery manufacturer John Deere, which is based in the US State of Illinois, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at the digital transformation of the heavy construction industry. As detailed in a press release, the positioning and sensor technology developed by Leica Geosystems is to be integrated in the construction machinery and systems offered by John Deere. The two companies are confident that their partnership will lead to productivity increases in relation to major construction projects, while at the same time helping to reduce the consumption of materials and cut process-inherent logistics times.
“We are thrilled to be working with John Deere, a company that shares a similar culture and commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction”, comments Troy Dahlin, Vice-President Heavy Construction, US/CAN at Leica Geosystems, in the press release. “Together, we will bring new levels of accuracy, productivity, and accelerate the implementation of safe and sustainable workflows to the construction industry”, he adds. Moreover, this should help customers to “succeed in today’s competitive marketplace” in addition to “enhancing their resilience for tomorrow”, Dahlin concludes. The construction machinery from John Deere equipped with the Leica software should be available on the market before the end of this year, according to the press release issued by the firm based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
“Working with Leica Geosystems is a tremendous opportunity, as their advanced technology solutions, paired with the power and performance of the John Deere construction equipment line-up, makes for a highly productive, efficient and seamless jobsite for our customers”, explains Mark Colvin, Senior Product Manager, Grade Management at John Deere.
