Zurich Airport has been selected as the best in Europe once again for the pandemic year of 2021. For the category of 25 to 40 million passengers per year, it received the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award. This is bestowed annually by the Airports Council International World, the umbrella association for airport communities.
The result is determined by surveying travelers and passengers who have landed. They are asked questions on 34 different categories, including infrastructure, security checks, catering facilities, and hygiene measures.
According to a press release, the result shows that “Zurich Airport manages to flexibly adapt to the circumstances and put the needs of its passengers first”. Zurich Airport has previously won this award in 2006, 2008, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This year, it shares it with Vienna International Airport and Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
CEO Stephan Widrig comments: “Like the previous year, 2021 also brought challenges and the pandemic had a significant impact on events. I am all the more pleased that our passengers feel comfortable at Zurich Airport, appreciate our services and our efforts are noticed.” He adds that his thanks also go to the 280 partner companies and all employees.
