The laser eye treatment provider betterview has opened a fifth location. The company, which was founded in Winterthur in 2021, is now also offering its services in Lucerne, further details of which can be found in a LinkedIn post. In the course of a year, it has already opened four eye clinics - which the company refers to as shops - in Zurich, Basel, Bern and Aarau. By the end of the year, additional shops will be added in Chur, St.Gallen, Western Switzerland and Ticino. According to an article published by moneycab, the company will also be looking to significantly expand its workforce.
The article explains that betterview has already treated several thousand eyes and expects sales in the double-digit million range for its first financial year. “Of course, we were always convinced by the services we offer and, in this vein, had drawn up ambitious growth plans right from the start”, comments co-founder Rouven Mayer, adding that: “But we never expected that demand would be so high in the first year”.
At the start of June 2023, betterview entered into a partnership with the blind charity Christoffel Blindenmission. The start-up donates 40 Swiss francs for each treatment using the Femto-LASIK method. The aim here is to improve access to eye treatments for children in Madagascar.
