Bühler wants the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations to be achieved and to contribute towards creating a sustainable world as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), its CEO Stefan Scheiber said in a press release from the company in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. “We want everyone to have access to safe and healthy food, and we want to live in a climate that supports and sustains them and future generations,” Stefan Scheiber continued.

Machines developed by Bühler are used all around the world for a wide range of applications, from food and vehicle production to the manufacture of smartphones and solar panels. Having this “global relevance”, Bühler sees itself as being “in an ideal position to address some of the world’s pressing challenges and transform them into sustainable business solutions”.

The 200 members of the WBCSD share best practices on sustainable development issues and together develop “innovative tools that change the status quo”. “We are dedicated to working towards a transformation of the key systems across society,” said Peter Bakker, President and CEO of the WBCSD. “Bühler’s focus on technology can be a real game-changer in sustainability terms.”
