B. Braun Medical AG has successfully expanded its client base: at the end of 2020, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) awarded the company a contract for the production of COVID-19 vaccination sets for use in hospitals. This news was announced on Monday in a company press release.

Accordingly, the sets were designed by B. Braun in line with the wishes of both the FOPH and the DDPS. The company was also tasked with procuring the individual components, including syringes, needles, skin disinfectant and plasters. Since December 2020, the company has been working tirelessly to assemble the sets at its production sites in Sempach in the canton of Lucerne and Crissier in the canton of Vaud. Moreover, a total of 50 employees have been hired, the majority on a temporary basis, to meet this demand.

Roman Kübler, CEO of B. Braun Medical AG, is quoted in the press release, explaining that his company is proud to be contributing to Switzerland’s vaccination efforts with these sets.
