The German company essendi it with locations in Schwäbisch Hall and Munich is establishing a third subsidiary in the canton of Uri. According to an announcement from the cantonal authority, the IT company is moving into the new service building of Urner Kantonalbank at Bahnhofplatz 1 in Altdorf.

Essendi it supports banks, insurance companies, and the industry and trade sectors with software solutions. In order to operate even more actively in the Swiss market, the company’s management has decided to establish a new location in Switzerland. Wirtschaftsförderung Uri, a business development agency for the canton, is said to have advised those responsible for the decision and received them several times in the canton itself. They chose Uri in November “after assessing several cantons”.

CEO of essendi it Sarah Zügel comments on the rationale: “The decisive factors in selecting the location included economic developments in the canton of Uri, the high quality of life, and the highly developed rail links to the centers for economic and leisure activities in the north and the south.”

Urban Camenzind, Head of Economics of the Cantonal Government of Uri, is quoted in a press release, stating: “We are delighted that those responsible for the decision at essendi it have chosen the location of Uri. This shows that with projects like the cantonal railway station, we are on the right track to further increase the attractiveness of the location.”
