The Nidwalden-based IT company SoftwareOne has been honored with the 2023 Geo and Global AWS Partner Award. According to a statement, the company received the “Federal Government Partner of the Year – LATAM” award for its cloud-based solutions, which can be used to advise and support customers in assessing and managing the risks of natural disasters.
The project was developed together with the Ministry of Social Development of the State of Minas Gerais (SEDESE-MG) in Brazil. The Swiss company's software solution significantly improves the living conditions of local communities by reducing warning times for natural disasters and enabling disaster relief to be organized more quickly and efficiently.
“We feel honoured to have won this award in recognition of supporting the state’s efforts to protect people from natural disasters,” commented Otavio Argenton, Country Leader, Brazil, SoftwareOne, in the statement. “This work is of utmost importance, playing a vital role in ensuring public safety. By utilising AWS technology, our team was able to develop a scalable solution that provides insights for public bodies, defence, and rapid response agencies to identify the location of people in 'high-risk' areas.”
SoftwareOne also received the “Rising Star Partner of the Year (SI) – Iberia” award at the AWS Awards and was nominated as a finalist for the “SI Partner of the Year – EMEA” and “MSP Partner of the Year – Global” awards.
