Swisscom will relocate and bring together 400 staff from the Lucerne area to its new office complex in Mattenhof, a district south of Lucerne. This consolidation will make the company more efficient by lowering costs, improving communications and establishing a modern workplace concept.
A new neighbourhood for 15,000 inhabitants is being built on the borders of Lucerne, Kriens and Horw. The Mattenhof site is being developed over the next two years by real estate company Mobimo and will comprise 20,000m2 of office space, 7,000m2 of commercial and restaurant space and a 155-room hotel. Some time in the future, it will be home and workplace for 2,000 people. Swisscom intends to occupy 7,500m2 over five floors on the site.
