According to NCEE the Swiss education system distinguishes itself by the following assets:
- 70% of young people between 16 and 19 opt for an apprenticeship
- at an early stage, apprentices are involved in working teams, where they learn to take on responsibility and where they are guided by specialists
- theory is continually put into practice
- apprentices receive a salary
- at the end of the apprenticeship, young professionals are awarded a nationally recognized certificate which allows them to either take up a full time position or continue training at the tertiary level
- education can be pursued, irrespective of the initial choice of education
The NCEE conducted surveys among senior business representatives, which all highlighted the correlation of the Swiss education system and the Swiss economy.
