OnlineDoctor raised 600,000 Swiss francs in a seed financing round. The startup foundation Startfeld, the investment firm Forty:one and two dermatologists participated in the financing round.

“We are proud to announce our first equity investment with OnlineDoctor,” said Cornelia Gut, CEO of Startfeld.

The startup from the St.GallenBodenseeArea was founded just one year ago. Via its online platform, patients can securely submit photos of their skin abnormalities to a skin specialist. Some 40 dermatologists across Switzerland currently belong to the startup’s network.

Patients receive a professional assessment and recommendation within 48 hours, and oftentimes in just a few hours. This has two advantages: first, it avoids the long waiting times to see a dermatologist, and second, the platform can be used from anywhere in the world, even when a person is on vacation.

The founders of Online Doctor want to take advantage of the digital transformation to offer a useful service for patients and doctors alike. In addition to the dermatologist Paul Scheidegger from Brugg in the canton of Aargau, the two other founders are Tobias Wolf and Philipp Wustrow, both of whom are at the University of St.Gallen (HSG).

The new funds will be used to accelerate the startup’s growth in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
