The Swiss Game Developers Association (SGDA) conferred the SGDA Swiss Game Awards for the sixth time this year. The main prize went to the Zurich based studio Okomotive, which impressed the judges with the game FAR: Lone Sails. The game also won the Audience Choice Award.

Okomotive was founded in 2017 by Goran Saric and Don Schmocker. However, as stated in a Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdKarticle, FAR: Lone Sails first saw the light of day in 2015 in a bachelor thesis by Don Schmocker. Subsequently it was further developed by the two founders in the course of a Master’s degree and launched in 2018.

The Swiss industry prize was awarded this year on 1 February at the Ludicious Game Festival in Zurich. In addition to Okomotive, the studio Momo-π from French-speaking Switzerland also won an award for the game Persephone. It received the accolade “Excellence in Gameplay”.

Ludicious has become an important meeting place for game developers. The best digital games are presented and awarded prizes. One of the aims of the event is also to make Swiss developers known internationally.
