AXA is investing in startups with business solutions from which its customers can benefit. “We are focusing on startups that create real added value for our customers with new technological possibilities and innovative ideas,” explains Thomas Gerber, Head of Life at AXA Switzerland, in an AXA press release. In this context, AXA is now investing in the startup Accounto from Root. The financial details have not been publicized.

With Accounto’s digital accounting platform, bookkeeping tasks dealing with paperwork can be automated. For example, photographed receipts sent to Accounto can be automatically processed and filed thanks to new technology. “SMEs have long wished for an end to the ceaseless bookkeeping work. We help make this wish a reality,” says Alain Veuve, founder and CEO of Accounto. As a result, companies can focus more fully on their core business.

“With AXA as a new investor, we are now able to significantly expand Accounto,” the startup writes in a press release. Accounto is in the process of putting together a “big team of developers”. New services are being explored that will help simplify administration for SMEs. Accounto will also be advancing the development of a product for trustees, facilitating smoother collaboration with SME customers.
