According to a press release, Torqeedo and c.technology have entered into a partnership. Torqeedo from Weßling to the south of Munich specializes in electromobility on water. The press release states that Zurich-based company c.technology is a provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud infrastructure for powersport vehicles. The two companies plan to develop smart motors together. The smart software system is to be presented at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam in November.
Integrating cloud technology into the electric drive systems of boats is said to be a milestone in the mission to make boating more sustainable, enjoyable, and easy to use. The press release goes on to state that together with c.technology’s technical knowledge, Torqeedo will create an innovative platform. Boaters, commercial operations, and fleet managers will have the option of sharing collected information with Torqeedo’s authorized service centers via web-based and mobile applications. This provision of anonymized data will optimize servicing and maintenance services.
