The third Swiss Education Fair (SEF) Vietnam 2021 will take place on Saturday, 18 September 2021 in Hanoi (venue tbc), and on Sunday, 19hSeptember 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City (venue tbc). The fair is co-organized by Switzerland Global Enterprise & the Swiss Business Hub ASEAN. It is supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Hanoi and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam’s economic growth over the past two decades has been steady and impressive, averaging 5.5% since 1990. Expansion is expected to continue until at least 2025 – so long as persistent skills shortages in the workforce are addressed. Vietnam is steadily pulling more of its citizens out of poverty and into the middle and upper classes. One-third of Vietnamese are expected to join the middle class by 2021. As families secure more wealth, they are better able to send their children abroad. The potential of the Vietnamese education market is further emphasized by a median age of the country’s population of just 30 years.
The Vietnamese overseas education market has maintained a growth according to data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training with the number of Vietnamese students studying abroad increasing by 46 % over the four-year period 2016-2020 and reached nearly 200’000 by 2020. More than 95% of the overseas students are self-funded with only 6’000 sponsored by public funding. There is an increasing trend of studying abroad at a younger age and the undergraduates are expected to become the key driver for overseas education..
Following this positive trend, the SEF 2021 offers a platform for Swiss educational institutions to promote their visibility and highlight the latest programs under the branding umbrella of Switzerland. It is an opportunity to interact personally with prospective students and their parents. Due to the pandemic, we understand international travel is difficult and quarantine is still foreseen if you travel to Vietnam from abroad. If you cannot attend in person, we strongly recommend you to invite your local representatives, partners or alumni to help host your table. If you are not going to send anyone, we can hire one person to be your representative during the event to make sure you won’t miss this opportunity. This service is included in the above prices.
