Third Party Event

Swiss-Chinese Life Sciences Forum 2019

The future of healthcare will be world dominated by data and controlled by individual patients. How do we get there? What has already been done? What are the most promising applications and what are the biggest challenges?

Swiss-Chinese Life Sciences Forum 2019

Basel and China look back on a many years of mutual exchange in the field of Life Sciences. Basel-based pharma companies have invested heavily in China ever since the Chinese economy started to open up. Recently, we can also observe an increased interest of Chinese companies to invest in Basel. China's Luye Pharma and BeiGene both established their European headquarters in Switzerland recently. ChemChina acquired Syngenta in 2017.

The Swiss-Chinese Life Sciences Forum takes place for the third time on October 24, 2019 in Basel in the new auditorium of the School of Life Sciences FHNW. This event has successfully fostered the relationship between Life Sciences communities in Switzerland and China in the past two years and continues to be the key Sino-Swiss life sciences event.

The future of healthcare will be world dominated by data and controlled by individual patients. How do we get there? What has already been done? What are the most promising applications and what are the biggest challenges? How do we meet the growing demand for digital health talents? How is the industry affected by new players from non-healthcare technology fields? How to make health data useful and applicable (standardization, etc.)? How can personal information be protected?
